Every day, approximately three million public meals are prepared for preschools, schools and elderly homes in Sweden. The 19th of October is a day when public meals are showcased throughout the country in various ways. The Meal Day has been instituted by the Academy of Culinary Arts and Meal Science and always falls on the third Thursday in October.
